Amazon adjusts fees starting 1st of June, 2017
On Wednesday, May 3, 2017 Amazon sent out an email reminder to its sellers, with the title “Reminder: Update to European Fulfilment by Amazon Fees”.
In this email Amazon explains us about the fulfillment, monthly storage fee and customer return fee (for clothing and shoes categories) changes, which will be effective starting 1st of June, 2017 in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
The reason for these adjustments is to reflect the changing costs of fulfillment, storage, transportation and customer service.
Fees for FBA Prep Services, removal and disposal orders, and Multi-Channel Fulfilment are not affected by this change and will continue to apply where applicable.
An example for the change of the fulfillment fee for units sold on Amazon.co.uk and fulfilled from a UK warehouse:
|Prior to June 1st, 2017||After June 1st, 2017|
|Standard Parcel up to 250g||£1.66||£1.73|
|Standard Parcel up to 1500g||£2.19||£2.26|
|Standard Oversize up to 1000g||£3.79||£3.85|
|Large Oversize up to 30 kg||£6.85||£6.89|
Monthly Storage fees in the UK will change as below:
|Month||Prior to June 1st, 2017||After June 1st, 2017|
|January – September||£ 0.30||£ 0.48|
|October – December||£ 0.40||£ 0.68|
All fees are exclusive of VAT and other taxes that are payable by the merchant. The examples above are a guide in evaluating FBA only. So please consider to add an additional 20% (VAT rate in the UK) to the above values.
These are important factors to consider, when choosing your next product.
